Child Therapy
At NorthPsych Adelaide, we understand how deeply a child’s emotional world is shaped by their environment, relationships, and daily experiences. When something feels “off,” it’s often parents and caregivers who sense it first—whether through changes in mood, behaviour, sleep, or school engagement. You may not have all the answers, but you know your child, and that’s where our work begins.
Supporting children—and the families who care for them
Our team supports children facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, emotional outbursts, school refusal, ADHD, trauma, grief, social difficulties, and family transitions. We take a thoughtful and compassionate approach, helping children feel safe enough to explore what’s going on beneath the surface—even if they don’t yet have the words to explain it.
Therapy is tailored to each child’s age, developmental stage, and unique personality. We use a combination of play, conversation, creative tools, and evidence-based interventions to help children make sense of their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping. Just as importantly, we work closely with parents throughout the process—offering guidance, clarity, and support so you’re not navigating things alone.
We know that helping a child thrive often means working with the whole family system. That’s why we take time to understand the dynamics at play—from sibling relationships to school pressures to parenting stress. Together, we can find practical strategies and emotional insight to help your child feel more settled, secure, and confident in themselves.
Whether you're feeling concerned, frustrated, or simply unsure of what your child needs, we’re here to help. Every child deserves to feel understood—and every parent deserves support.
